The Basque daily reported on the film’s references to the Centro Vasco Americano, under the subhead “El filme ‘Little Spain’ incluye referencias al Centro Vasco Americano”.
The article reproduces a photograph included in the film of Valentín Aguirre, centre, standing outside his Hotel Santa Lucía in New York.
It records that the Centro Vasco Americano was founded in 1913 and decades later became the seed of what is today the Euzko Etxea in Brooklyn, and quotes the director on the neighbourhood’s rise and expansion.
