La Opinión A Coruña — “¿Qué fue de la ‘Little Spain’?”

The Galician daily reported on the film at the time of its premiere, under the subhead “Documental reconstruye la historia de la calle 14, el perdido barrio español de Nueva York que acogió a muchos gallegos”.
The article records that Balder reconstructs the memories of these emigrants through the testimony of eight residents and members of La Nacional, the oldest Spanish club in the United States.
It is the source for two details the film documents: that Federico García Lorca lived at La Nacional for between two and five months, and that the painter Joaquín Sorolla donated a portrait to the Society, of which only a trace remains.

In the author’s words
“El episodio final es un epílogo surrealista en homenaje a Lorca, con la lectura de un poema de Poeta en Nueva York.”
